Properties of Silicion Nitride Roller Bearing

 

1. High limit speed

Silicon nitride density is only 40% of steel density, operation centrifugal force can be reduced, thereby limit speed can be significantly increased.

2. High precision

The hardness and Young's modulus of silicon nitride are much higher than that of steel, so mechanical deformation of silicon nitride roller bearing is smaller under the same load, therefore silicon nitride bearing roller can be applied to occasions with higher precision requirements.

3. Longer service life

Silicon nitride roller bearing weight is light, and operation centrifugal force is smaller, raceway load can be reduced. What's more, the friction coefficient of silicon nitride is small, temperature rise is lower during operation, so the wear is less and bearing have longer service life, which is more than 5 times of steel bearings.

4. Lubrication free

1. Bearing selection
It is need to choose the appropriate bearings according to the size of the shaft, tolerance and load, to avoid improper fit or overload.
 
 
2. Bearing installation
When install silicon nitride roller bearing, it is necessary to apply equal pressure on the circumference of the ring end face. In order to load the ring, it is forbidden to hit the bearing end face directly with a hammer, so as not to damage the bearing.
 
 
3. Matching of bearing and shaft
The fit selection of silicon nitride bearing must be selected according to the load direction and load features. For rotating load and indefinite load, the ring should adopt a static fit, and for static load, the combination of excessive fit and dynamic fit can be adopted.
 
 
4. Bearing lubrication
The silicon nitride roller bearing itself has a certain lubricity, but in order to further increase lubrication and ensure the service life of the bearing under high-speed rotation, an appropriate amount of lubricating oil or grease can be added.
 
 
5. Bearing maintenance
Regularly check the vibration and noise of silicon nitride roller bearing, the temperature of bearing operation and the state of lubricating oil, according to the use of the environment and operating conditions of regular cleaning and maintenance, timely clean off the debris on the bearing.
