Usage Instructions

1. Initial Cleaning: Before usage, it is essential to cleanse the alumina crucible to eliminate impurities and surface dust. Employ a soft cloth or brush for a gentle wipe, refraining from using hard objects or metal brushes to prevent any scratching on the crucible surface.
 
2. Minimize Vibrations: While utilizing the crucible, steer clear of excessive vibration or collisions to prevent any harm to the structural integrity of the crucible.
 
3. Chemical Interaction Caution: Despite the alumina crucible's robust resistance to strong acids and alkalis, prolonged contact may induce chemical reactions, impacting its lifespan. Endeavor to avoid prolonged exposure to potent acids and bases during usage, opting for milder reagents whenever possible.
 
4. Optimal Preheating Guidelines: Set the preheating temperature at approximately 105℃, ensuring a gradual and uniform heating process. Exercise control over the heating rate and refrain from frequently opening the furnace door. Maintain a heating rate below 1200℃ at <5℃/min and above 1200℃ at <4℃/min.
 
5. Heating Precautions: Avoid using gasoline spray guns, acetylene guns, or alcohol spray burners for direct heating to prevent explosive cracking due to uneven heat distribution. Maintain a distance of no less than 2cm between the crucible and the heating element, and ideally, avoid direct contact between the bottom of large crucibles and the furnace bottom. Elevate the crucible using temperature-resistant materials like corundum sheets to facilitate air convection and extend the crucible's service life.
 
6. Residue Removal: It is permissible to clear residue from the crucible surface while it is still hot, but refrain from using acidic or alkaline substances for cleaning.
 
7. Molten Sample Compatibility: Alumina crucibles are suitable for molten samples of weakly alkaline substances such as anhydrous Na2CO3. However, avoid using strongly alkaline substances or acidic substances like Na2O2, NaOH, and potassium pyrosulfate (K2S2O7).
 
8. Safety Measures: Given the high operating temperatures, always wear personal protective equipment such as heat-releasing gloves and protective glasses during usage to prevent burns or eye injuries.
 
9. Proper Storage: Store alumina crucibles in dry and well-ventilated areas, minimizing friction or collision with other items to prevent surface damage or scratches.
